Now I know before I even start writing this rant about loud ass motorcycles and how much they suck that there will be plenty of motorcycle riders that will be pissed off. I think it’s important that I point out that I have been a motorcycle owner on two previous occassions, both occassions were good old fashion crotch rockets. I also think it’s important to point out that I have friends that have motorcycles, I grew up with motorcycles in my family and by father in law currently has a motorcyle.
IAt this point it should be very clear to everyone that I don’t hate all motorcycles, I am actually a big fan of all kinds of motorcycles and attatched a few hot motorcycle pictures below. I even threw in a few hot girls on motorcycles to show my appreciation for hot bikes and hot girls that ride mototrcycles.

Now that I have set the tone I can get down to business. Why is it that 90% of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle riders in this part of Florida find it nescessary to have the loudest exhaust pipes possible? I mean I can see and fully understand the reason behind having the flashing headlight and an exchaust system that alerts the 900 year old drivers around you to your existence, but why does it have to be loud enough for people 3 miles away to hear and find uncomfortable?
Loading ...I specifically targeted the Harley Davidson or your “Cruiser motorcycles” because only about 10% of your crotch rockets around here have obnoxious exhaust, and as I stated earlier like 90% of the Harley Davidson style bikes around here have exhaust that is way to fuc*in loud.

In my honest opinion exhaust that loud couldn’t be any more unnessecary, I put it in the same class as all of the 16 year old punks that think their shitty sounding extremely obnoxious exhaust is appealing. Before I go here’s a quick message to all the inconsiderate a$$holes that feel the need to try and compensate for having a small diznick by having obnoxious exhaust pipes…… GIVE THE WORLD A FUC*IN BREAK AND TONE IT DOWN A 100 DECIBLES!!!

I think you’re right on point that it’s like the kid who plays his music way too loud at the stop light. Sure it’s cool that you have a badass bike, but you don’t have to rev it right next to me, especially when I’m stuck next to you at a stop light. It comes down to having some consideration for other people.

John, I believe the law has come to your side on this one. Last week, a daily customer came into my work and actually told me that cops on the beach are cracking down on loud exhaust pipes on motorcycles. In fact, the guy said he has stopped riding his motorcycle on the beach because he got a noise disordinace ticket of $150 for having to loud of an exhaust pipe. If enforcement is cracking down on noise ordinances on the beach now, it is only a matter of time before this law enters into the cities my friend and you will be able to finally rest/ride in peace lol…

I gave ‘do loud motorcycles piss you off’ a resounding ‘yes’ vote! I would also put the kids who ‘pimp their rides’ with big-bore exhausts so that they sound ‘cool’ when cruising in the same category! Maybe I’m just getting old, but you see kids who have just passed their tests driving round in what would be cheap cars that they must have spent thousands on pimping – for the money they spend they could have bought a decent ride in the first place! End of rant….

@Brendan Crawford that is GREAT news, not that I really want to see anyone get a ticket for having friggin loud exhaust but it wouldn’t be bad if the crap wasn’t so loud.
@Karen it does seem like there is a lot more loud obnoxious bikes on the roads these days. My neighbor has an amazing custom Harley, it’s unreal.. but the exhaust sounds excellent as opposed to sounding obnoxious and painful.
@MartinT there is so much of that in this area of Florida it makes me want to puke, the young legal driving age of course increase everything that you mentioned.
As for the “Black Thong in Public” shot, that’s actually my butt. Sexy huh

The thinking seems to be that the louder the cycle is then somehow it must therefore be better than some other cycle….when I look at cycles there really isn’t much there..so the loud noise must be intended to make them better than they really are…which is not that good…Now I know that Muscle cars have loud exhausts as well, but hey, we are bigger at least…LOL…

I live on an important avenue in Sydney (Australia) and just downt he raod there is a bikey bar. Im fed up with the loud roars I hear all day on Saturday and Sunday as the riders get together…nice bikes but annoying for me and my neighbors! (Great pics here by the way!)

I hear ya, there’s really no need for an exhaust that loud. You can get plenty of performance with a quiter exhaust.

You know Extreme, I actually wrote about this topic earlier today on my own weblog. This post has really provided me with some food for thought and I feel that you have made some really interesting points. I really wish I had discovered it prior to writing my own post. – driving101.
This is growing trend in young generation to use the motor bike that have a noisy silencer.Actually they do not want to tease any one but they feel pleasure to do this and also feel proud by thinking that people are watching them. Their main aim is to draw the attention of the people towards them.

I have never really tried to find out the mileage and performance stats of the Harley. It would make for a rather independent research as I mostly work on Sportsbike Fairings and Body Kits. The Black thong picture is the perfect explanation of my love for these bikes.

I really hate loud motorcycles! It can disturb you even at your deepest sleep. It’s good to have big bikes but make sure it’s not big enough to disturb everyone.
