Small Business Foursquare Friday Giveaway

Here comes one of those on the fly posts that I probably should have planned a little better and put a lot more time into, problem is that I have about fifteen other posts that I would like to get done today. Well, actually I have like fifteen other posts that I NEED to get written and scheduled before the 4th of July weekend gets underway.

Those of you that read the Extreme John.com blow on a daily basis or that connect with me via social networking sites like Twitter (@extremejohn) and my Facebook fan page know that I often share things that we are doing in our small business’s to network with our customers or generate sales through marketing. Extreme Tan and Smoothies is easily our most active small business when it comes to social networking and social media site interaction, we have a killer indoor tanning blog that fits nicely with our tanning Facebook fan page.

The web is a giant place and focusing on just one form of social media for any small business would be a mistake in my opinion, it’s like I always say about small business… Diversification in business the key to success. One thing I like to think that we do well at Extreme Tan and Smoothies in regards to our social media and social networking campaigns is that we stay busy, busy joining new social networks, busy talking and interacting. BUSY BUSY BUSY.

Earlier today we kicked off “Foursquare Friday” at all six of our Tampa tanning salons (Tampa Bay area), it’s one of my favorite kinds of promos for many reasons (outlined below).

3 Reasons I Like Foursquare Promos

No cost to the small business besides the incentives the small business owner decides to offer.
Foursquare is still VERY new to the general (non webbie) public, it’s a great way to introduce them to Foursquare.
Foursquare events are simple to setup. No time hog here.

O.k that seems like everything I need for this post and even managed to put a little inbound and outbound links into the post, not bad for a speedy post job. I hope this example of our Foursquare promo comes in handy to a few of the indoor tanning salon owners and entrepreneurs that read my blog looking for something decent to put to use.
