Strikeforce: Fedor vs Werdum Predictions

Buffer Pin It Strikeforce Predictions

It’s always so much fun around Extreme John.com when I take the time to write about Fedor Emelianenko or dare to post predictions of a fight that might involve Fedor, I can’t imagine that this post will be any different. This Saturday June 26, 2010 Strikeforce and M1-Global will be putting on a mixed martial arts event that features Fedor taking on Fabricio Werdum as the main event which will air live on Showtime.

Those of you that enjoy reading my blog for the UFC and Strikeforce predictions know that I base 90% of my predictions on who I would LIKE to see win vs who I think will actually win, it’s my new readers that don’t know that little bit of information. This usually becomes the main reason behind all of the bitching and complaining that goes on when I do any kind of prediction with Fedor in the mix, I don’t pick Fedor because I don’t like Fedor. Period.

Anyway, I will get back to Fedor vs Werdum in a minute, there are actually a couple of other fights on the Strikeforce fight card that I am much more excited about, one of them being the rematch between Scott Smith and Cung Le. There’s also a fight between “Cyborg” Santos and Jan Finney that should be entertaining for at least :45 seconds, after that I can’t make any promises.

Strikeforce Fedor vs Werdum Fight Card

Fedor vs Werdum

Fedor Emelianenko vs Fabricio Werdum

There really is no sense of me going into a long speech trying to name all of the reasons I think Fabricio Werdum will win this fight, the fact is I don’t have a list of reasons and it’s probably a long shot. Something I understand clearly. Fedor bores me to death and nothing would make me more happy than to see him finally catch a beaten, again not sure Werdum is going to pull that off. Regardless my prediction, Fabricio Werdum. I like my underdogs.

Scott Smith vs Cung Le

The rematch between Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith and Cung Le can easily be a main event fight, these two guys had an incredible brawl the first time they met and I see no reason that we won’t be treated to another incredible fight. Expect Cung Le to connect with brutal kicks that sound like baseball bats cracking slabs of beef while Smith works to find a way to lay one of his “Hands of Steel” on Cung Le’s button, damn I can’t wait!!!

As much as I like and respect Cung Le I will be pulling for Smith to defeat Cung Le again. My prediction Scott Smith.

Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos vs Jan Finney

I can’t imagine that I’m alone when I say that I predict Cyborg Santos will be putting an end to this fairly quickly, all though I wouldn’t mind seeing Jan Finney pull of the victory. No underdog in this one kids, my prediction Cyborg Santos.

Under Card

Josh Thomson vs Pat Healy

Magomed Shikhshabekov vs Ron Keslar

O.k. it looks like that’s about it. Feel free to leave a comment with your Strikeforce Fedor vs Werdum predictions or check out my UFC 116 Lesnar vs Carwin predictions.

It’s the same thing when girls always pick their basketball bracket because of the color jersey’s. Guess who won that bracket this year? That’s right, jersey color picker.

I’m just getting to this a little late. I couldn’t watch the actual fight last night, but the cool new ESPN MMA had the video-taped ending. And then I laughed my ass of watching Fedor tap out. Nice work, Werdum. Awesome. And wow, Fedor seemed just a little bit humbled at the press conference afterwards. LOL.
