WOW! What a weekend Mixed Martial Arts fans have in store with MMA events on Saturday and Sunday night this week. I was so busy writing my [intlink id="2145" type="post"]UFC 98 Review[/intlink] and my [intlink id="2211" type="post"]UFC 99 Predictions[/intlink] that I never got around to posting my Strikeforce Lawler vs Shields Predictions, meanwhile James posted his Strikeforce Lawler vs Shields Predictions.
I am actually kind of pissed off at myself for slacking on getting this Strikeforce All Access article posted because Im going to miss out on some decent traffic if my [intlink id="1592" type="post"]Strikeforce Shamrock vs Diaz[/intlink] article is any indicator. Oh well you can’t win them all and with a weekend packed with MMA action like this weekend is, I really have nothing to complain about.
Once I finish up these Strikeforce Shields vs Lawler Predictions I plan on writing my WEC Faber vs Brown II Predictions, the WEC 41 event is this Sunday on the VS network. In all honesty as good as the Strikeforce fight card is and the [intlink id="2211" type="post"]UFC 99 fight card[/intlink] is I am more excited to see the Urijah Faber vs Mike Brown WEC 41 fight than anything. I am a big Urijah Faber fan and we almost sponsored him for [intlink id="649" type="post"]WEC 36 in Hollywood[/intlink], Florida before the fight was rescheduled due to an approaching Hurricane.

Robbie Lawler vs Jake Shields
I will keep this fight prediction short and sweet, regardless of how Jake Shields fights or doesn’t fight I can’t stand him. He has been ducking Joe Riggs forever and Jake Shields is probably one of the most boring fighters that you can ever watch, aside from the new Anderson Silva. I hope Robbie Lawler pounds Jake Shields back into his pink powder room.

Andrei Arlovski vs Brett Rogers
This should be a nice explosive fight that ends abruptly with someone’s head being smashed, Brett Rogers is a pretty bad dude and there’s no doubt that Andrei Arlovski isn’t a bad ass in his own right. Brett Rogers is a wild man when he’s in the cage and throws some heavy heaters, as much as I would like to say that Arlovski learned from his mistake against Fedor (which cost him the belt in my opinion), I don’t think it matters in this fight. If Rogers doesn’t gas out and can finish the fight in the first round Rogers will be good to go, the longer the fight goes and the more trouble Rogers will be in, his conditioning is nothing remotely close to Andre Arlovski’s conditioning.
My precition for Arlovski vs Rogers: Brett Rogers either by KO or TKO
Scott Smith vs Nick Diaz
It’s safe to say that Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith will never get a nice easy walk in the park fight, it’s also safe to say that Smith fights on any notice and fights anyone that any orginization puts in front of him. I said it in my [intlink id="1592" type="post"]Strikeforce Shamrock vs Diaz article[/intlink] and I will say it again here, I will watch any fight that Scott Smith is in. He always provides an excellent entertaining fight, regardless if he wins or loses. As much as I respect Nick Diaz and his fighting ability as well as the fighting family he is part of, I still think he’s way too cocky for his own good. Remember I make my picks with who I personally want to win, not who I think will technically win.

Phil Baroni vs Joe Riggs
Ahh the New York Bad Ass is back in action and not fighting on some non televised event in the middle of nowhere, I enjoy watching Phil Baroni fight. You also have to keep in mind I am from New York, I always pick New York fighters regardless oif I feel they have a shot at winning or not. Phil Baroni is one of those pre-fight trash talkers that doesn’t bother me, in fact I enjoy it all though it seems Phil was more interested in talking about how much sex he plans on having.

Kevin Randleman vs Mike Whitehead
There’s no doubt that Strikeforce can put a card together, this fight should be another very entertaining fight on the Strikeforce card. Kevin Randleman is in incredible shape and seems ready to go after recovering from an injury, Kevin Randleman is no spring chicken and he is certainly not someone that anyone should take lightly. Not that I can imagine anyone taking Kevin Randleman lightly, he looks pretty damn scary on a bright sunny day… Imagine what he looks like while he is trying to rip your head off. Mike Whitehead is nothing to sneeze at either, he’s a monster as well and should be more than a handful for Randleman.
