It’s time to bust out another installment of the Sunday Smash series, really not all that shocking or surprising since I put this collection of the weeks best articles and some other stuff up every Sunday, well maybe not every Sunday but pretty close to every Sunday.
If you are a blogger it’s always a good idea to show some link luv to other bloggers in your network, having a weekly link mashup makes spreading that luv pretty easy and it serves as a great way to share information with your readers.
Blog of the Week
Each week I like to pick a random blog that I visit and list it as the “Blog of the Week”, I typically reserve the Blog of the Week for active bloggers within my blog network.

I know, I know there’s probably a handful of the handful of you that are reading this shaking your head in disgust and screaming “Foul Play!”, than there are the rest of you that are wondering what the hell I am talking about. In short MMA Punk is one of my projects or visions that I am fortunate enough see coming together thanks to a very hard working new blogger, James @mmapunk .
I typically try to stay away from including my own sites or projects into the blog too much, but this time around I have to give props where props is do and James deserves some props. MMA Punk.com has come a long way over the last 45 days and it’s all due to James and his hard work along with a little help from Mike on the side, I initially planned on playing a much bigger role on MMA Punk but time has not been on my side. Anyway, James has been killing it over there and he’s learning a lot about blogging while doing it, stop by and say hey to a fellow hard working blogger.

These are the people that are nice enough to come through here and take the time to leave a comment, comments are the life blood of a blog like mine that would be pretty useless if it weren’t for the people like all of you that leave comments here. Thank you.
Top Referring Blogs
Just grab the button above or hot link it directly from my server and link it to http://www.extremejohn.com, or I guess if you didn’t feel like staring at my mug you could always put a text link in your blog roll. Who knows you might be listed here next week, it shouldn’t be that hard since most of my traffic comes from search engines like Bing and Google.

Blog Link Luv Received
Every once and a while a kick ass blogger will be considerate enough to include one of my posts in one of their posts over the course of the week, here are a few of the bloggers that were nice enough to shout me out. If you link me up during the week and I miss it please shoot me an email or leave a comment pointing me in the right direction so I can show some luv back.
Constructive Criticism Sharing
I won’t be going into some big thing about this but I did find something pretty funny that I wanted to share with everyone, I believe in constructive criticism and sharing your input with others, I also believe in doing it a certain way.
On Friday I was fortunate enough to be included in one of my favorite weekly series Fetching Friday, which is written by Kristi the famous blogger of Kikolani.com, I’ve been a little crazy this week and didn’t get over to Kristi’s site until Saturday afternoon as I closed up this post. I was pretty excited to see that Kristi who is also the creative blogger that recently started DoFollow.info included me in another Fetching Friday post, I scrolled down to read through the comments when a comment left by someone hit me the wrong way.
I initially intended to ignore the comment and just leave a comment thanking Kristi for including me in her Fetching Friday post, my next thought was than to rip Frank a new asshole for wording his comment the way that he did, than I decided to skip that because I’m really not overly concerned with Frank’s opinion about what I write. I write the things I write for the people that read my blog, not for Frank and not for Frank’s readers.
Frank felt that I needed to share other well known ways to increase Alexa rankings, all though Frank did seem to really enjoy the other SEO articles that were included in Kristi’s post (as did I). I will consider Frank’s constructive criticism in my next round of post writing, I hope that Frank will consider my constructive criticism for how he does things with his blog as well.
Since Frank shared his constructive criticism of my post with others I guess it’s ok for me to share mine for him here. Frank needs to check the spam folder more often, losing out on 100′s of real blog comments written by a real human isn’t a great way to attract long term blog commentators or build blogging relationships.
Last but not least Frank I would suggest worrying about writing your things how you write them and let others write things how they choose to write them, there isn’t a single article in the world that couldn’t use a little more info or be updated, and many many blog networks are built off of that exact thing. Think about it, if you were REALLY playing the game the right way wouldn’t you have written a post that built on the information that I provided and maybe have shown some link luv in the process? Sounds like with the formula I provided everyone wins, your readers get the info that you felt needed to be included, I get link luv and who knows maybe I would have actually learned something from your input, instead no one gets anything with your formula. #networkingfail #bloggingfail
Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts on Frank’s comment, or even my constructive criticism. I hope that those of you that are in Frank’s blog network as well as mine can see and appreciate my response, I have a lot of excellent bloggers I have relationships with that I would hate to see take things the wrong way.

First of all thanx for the link love JOHN.
About the criticism of Frank, I personally feel he is right. Dont take me in wrong way, I am just telling you my opinion. I know you are far better than me but that post of yours was not good compared to your other post.
You are welcome to kick my ass or criticise me. I always welcome criticism as it gives me an oppurtunity to improve my self.
Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
Happy blogging!!!
Twitter: extremejohn
@Ricky, haha no your input or Franks opinion are going to be the last things on earth to hurt my feelings. However I would suggest that you and Frank take a moment to read the first paragraph in the post again, than after both of you do that I think you should probably read the post title which said “3 Ways to Increase Your Alexa Ranking”.
It doesn’t say “13 things” or even “3 things that Frank and Ricky will agree increase your Alexa ranking”. The post title and the first paragraph of the post state exactly what I am going to do, and that’s exactly what I did.
If you or Frank or both of you feel like putting more time into it for your readers I would suggest doing so, because there are plenty of things that just about anyone would be able to sit down and state about any article, post, blog, picture, etc. Opinions = everyone has one.
Have a great weekend Ricky and of course thank you as always for your input.

@Extreme John,
.
Anyway It was a great read John. I don’t like to fight over silly matters
“3 things that Frank and Ricky will agree increase your Alexa ranking” is a funny title. Lol. Try it out once, just kidding.

@Ricky, not too shabby for a late night chuckle.

I think it was kind of a punk move for Frank to “out” you in that fashion on someone else’s blog. If he’d been man enough to write it on the post you wrote, though it still would have been rude, at least you could have addressed it in the proper fashion.
And you’re right about one other thing, that being how it was done. I don’t see criticizing someone for skipping something you feel should be there is the way to go. I’ve read posts where I felt something should be added, so I just say “If I may, I’d like to add…” or something like that. It enhances both the post and the comment, rather than saying something that really doesn’t contribute to anything.
I thank you for including me here, and of course you see we do have a few similar tastes. Course, I’m waiting to see if you get me an invite to the next Hef party. lol
.-= Mitch´s last blog ..Twitter Tools =-.
Twitter: extremejohn
@Mitch, what I think is complete bullshit is me going out of my way to ask John from Pot Politics to have Frank check his spam folder because I didn’t want the comments to get lost in space, than he turns around and makes a comment like that on another blog.
Like I said, impressing Frank is the least of my worries and regardless of how he feels about it plenty of people wrote me to call bullshit on Frank’s comment.
I guess I should just send Frank a big “Thank You” for always writing the most complete and perfect posts.
Twitter: Mitch_M
@Extreme John, I’m sure he’d appreciate the thanks. lol

John,
I think the mantra is to take it lightly.
I agree no post is perfect and cannot be, there are always updates and other things to look out for, and you may end up updating each and every post, silly.
I think your post was good and just take the comment as maybe a feedback(very critical one though).
I think it would have been good if he had explained what should have been included.
What say john

@gautam hans, it’s like anything else in life, some will see no problem with how Frank went about things, or at least there are some that won’t say a word about it.
Than there are people like me
Twitter: virtuosoblogger
@Extreme John,
I agree you can have problems, and it is your right to speak out. You should also take it as a feedback so that maybe it makes you even better in life. After all learning is very important. Right?
.-= gautam hans´s last blog ..Blog Godown now 6 months old! =-.
Twitter: extremejohn
@gautam hans, feedback and feedback that actually has something specific that takes the feedback from being useless feedback to useful feedback are two different things.
Frank’s feedback offered no training, no teaching and nothing to learn from. I do agree though, had Frank offered some criticism that could have been useful I would have taken it that way
Twitter: virtuosoblogger
@Extreme John, I agree john the feedback was really not useful.
P.s i reached the reply limit i wasn’t able to reply to you LOL:)

I dunno. I think the Frank’s comment was uncalled for. Maybe if he made the comment here on your blog but he made the comment on another blog.

@ZXT, he knows he could have handled it differently, I mean if he’s a critic of it, it means he read it and if he read it he could have commented with how he felt. Instead he commented on Kristi’s blog, kind of a coward move in my opinion.
But than again it’s not like Im rushing over to his blog at this point to tell him I think how he doesn’t say thanks on Twitter and how he doesn’t check his spam folder is bullshit.

Nice to see MMAPunk os doing good for you guys.

That’s another great week John! Between, I notice that you link Doug Dillard at “http://blog.onesuite.com/”? I’m curious that you point to wrong link or that’s Doug’s another site?
Regards,
Lee

@Lee Ka Hoong, ouch a copy and paste came back top bite me here, I will fix Doug’s link thank you.
Twitter: blogsterblogsire.com
Truth be told John, just like there is more than one way to skin a cat, there is more than one way to cover any given topic. A newbie blogger may read one blog on SEO and it goes way over his head while another post from another blogger may better understood.
Just had a thought. I reckon ripping someone a new asshole would make a great ‘how to’ YouTube video. I sure would like to see how this is done.

@Sire, haha as much as I love the You Tube ass ripping video idea I just don’t have the time or honestly the energy to address Frank in that matter.
He showed exactly how he is and more than enough people have written me to say what they thought of his actions, thats more than enough for me. Frank can ride off into the sunset and write about anti-virus scams and Ill ride off into the sunset and write Alexa posts that don’t include the info that Frank feels it should.
Twitter: blogsterblogsire.com
@Extreme John heck, it doesn’t have to be Frank, anyone will do, I just want to see how it’s done

Wow your rolling a rant is cool and sometimes necessary, but I wouldn’t of mentioned it. If I wrote about each time a blogger disappointed me or tried some shady stuff I would have over 1 million posts LOL
and said it on here.
It’s hard also because I know you both but I will say something that applies to me also.
Bloggers are working hard we are for the most part sensitive people,we can become victims of our own jealousy. As we elevate in our blogging we are going to have people that are jealous.I would swap pink slips with you right NOW .But I will just keep working. The point is you give people something to be jealous about and as you go even higher you have to let sh8t slide because this is only the beginning.
Two old school sayings I like- Choose your battles wisely.
two: You can’t kill them all.
My only thing is if anyone didn’t like your post they could of came HERE like RICKY DOES LOL
Ricky has came to my site and said I wrote a nasty post.
I didn’t loose a beat or go into attack mode because it was all in fun and not worth it.
Feedback isn’t always going to be sweet. My suggestion is just to keep dropping my NAME like you have been doing and keep the elevator going UP
see you at the TOP
Thanks

@John Sullivan, yeah I hear ya man, I play the role of “The Bigger Person” about 95% of the time in my life, I don’t have the patience for the other 5%, enjoy the rants it’s part of being me.
If people do shit the way it’s suppose to be done that 5% would be much easier to tolerate

@Extreme John,
I’m DRO HIGH LOL
No one has probably lost more or gave to people that screwed me in the end.
I wish I could change the human brain to never kill another human,to always say thank you and to be a good friend to each other.Maybe in the next life but for now I can no longer suffer for other people’s character defects.
I’m getting to old and each day becomes more precious
Your where many of us are trying to get and with success comes a notion that people are just the way they are. Man will change when he wants and I keep pushing forward and look in the mirror to see what I need to change.ahh pass me a Kleenex
Keep your chin up man your going places fact you don’t need any distractions I know I don’t
.-= John Sullivan´s last blog ..Do you really read your comments ? =-.
Twitter: extremejohn
@John Sullivan, I don’t know man I have been screwed over by pretty much everyone I have ever known with the exception of a few cool people that remain in my everyday life now, everyone else is cut out. I can tell you stories of back stabbing worthless dirt bags that I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by in my lifetime, thank god none in the last couple of years.
I use snake repellent now.
