Sunday Topper

I must really feel like yapping about all kinds of different things this morning because it’s not very often that I jump on here on a Sunday morning and write a random post without any real reason. One of the big factors could be that the New York Jets don’t get off the ground until 6:30pm est tonight in the AFC Championship game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, I’m a huge NY Jets fan and the late time slot is killing me.

Bart Scott – “Feels Great” NY Jets Anthem

After the New York Jets zipped up the New England Patriots last week the torture of getting to today’s game has been pretty substantial.

My morning has been pretty productive already which means I should be able to really stomp it before the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers kick off at 3pm. I wouldn’t mind having a nice jump on the week after playing catch up for most of last week. After crashing on the couch after UFC Fight for the Troops 2 I woke up pretty early this morning, the little princess woke up early too so we headed to the food store for some chips and soda for this afternoon. Told you the anticipation of the game eats me alive.

I also managed to write a post over on Intense Business titled, “5 Things You Need to Do to Get to the Big Game“, something I desperatley needed to do after slipping up and mentioning Intense Business on Twitter when it was really no-where-near being ready. I intend to focus some serious energy on looking into customizing Intense Business, with the extra time before the game it would be nice to spend a solid 2 hours on that project before moving on to some list writing for Extreme Spray Tan.

Using GQueues for Managing Worklists for my Business

Speaking of writing lists, thanks to GQueues I can finally schedule and manage tasks on a monthly basis in the form of a work list without babysitting the tasks that need to get done on a weekly or monthly basis. I’ve been putting together unique new work lists to help all of my Extreme Tan and Smoothies Home Office associates keep the monthly and weekly redundant tasks managed within their daily schedules.

Thanks to a few aggressive home office members I am already seeing results from using GQueues to schedule and manage tasks, it’s a great addition to the 37 Signals Suite that we also use to track and manage projects and associate communication.

On the Work List

A few things on my list to get done today before the games kickoff include:

Password Management

Thanks to some solid advice from Jim it really is necessary to complete a new password management system to better handle passwords within my businesses, it really is mind boggling just how many usernames and passwords we have within my organizations. Honestly something I never really even thought of until I started to put together a list of websites, usernames and passwords. In any case, I wouldn’t mind finding a good cloud management solution to handle our usernames and passwords, but if that fails it will be old school spread sheet.

New Web Design 2011

Every year we usually kick off new new year with new site designs for Extreme Tan and Smoothies and Extreme John.com. I actually remembered to capture the progression of the new design for Extreme Tan and Smoothies 2011, I would like to get a post written here and share how it’s come along. Hopefully the new site design will get snapped into place towards the end of the week.

Work on the Community

Before my week turned super hectic two weeks ago I managed to add a forum section to Intense Business, properly titled the Intense Business forums. I can remember a time when I started The Tan Forum community where I had a ton of designers and web developers that would create various forum topics, made life much easier that’s for sure. I wouldn’t mind getting 10 different topics of discussion and a few new Business Groups added.

Last Minute Design Changes

I will also be writing a complete list of final web design changes that need to take place on Extreme Spray Tan before the soft opening later this week.

Parting Shots

I really love when I have the opportunity to get extra work nailed down on a Sunday, it always seems to pop off my week with a little more aggression than usual. Hopefully today goes as planned, plenty of beautiful clouds and drilling the work load.

Your Up

Do you plan on getting any extra work done or just kicking it on this lovely Sunday? Is football on the menu? Leave a comment

P.s. It’s finally cold here and it seems as if it’s going to last longer than 5 minutes. Is it cold by you?

Can’t wait for 6:30.
Passwords is always a toughone for also. It seems that I have a long list of passwords for all my accounts too.
Good luck on the new web design.

Yes, the Jets came out cold again. BUT I BLAME REX for the lose. You know your team is struggling late in the 1st half, so run the ball and run out the clock and re-group your team. If it wasn’t for that passing play that caused the fumble and TD the Jets would be in the SuperBowl.
Always next year. I didn’t like the LT comments after the game. “I am under contract and I will honor my contract for next year”. Thats not a good response when asked if you are returning next year.

3 Keys to the Jets loss.

1) Poor clock management with a deficit the size of the one they were trying to
2) Pathetic play calling and execution on the final two 4th down situations… Run up the middle? Against the Steelers? At home? When you’re down by two TD’s?
3) Tackling at the level of a 2nd grader will never win you a championship

Huge fan of tasks lists and I hadn’t heard of GQueues before it looks like a google product almost. I just signed in to check it about a bit.

GQueues is awesome, I’ve only been using it for a short period of time and I love it. Already seeing excellent results too. It looks VERY much like a Google product.
