Tanning Salons going up for sale
Recently we have been looking to grow and expand out Extreme tan and Smoothies Indoor Tanning brand by adding more locations either by building them from the ground up or making acquisitions. I think now would be a great time for us to get settled in and grow our brand at a slower pace than we have been use to over the previous four years and im willing to take a risk to see it pay off (hopefully) once the economy snaps back.
We have our Pinellas Park location is only a few week from us starting our build out of the tanning walls which go in place before the paint, than the floor and than of course the Pro Sun tanning beds if we go with pro Sun this time around. Once Pinellas Park is complete that would make our fourth location which still puts us about six salons away from where I would like us to be before we start looking at expanding into different parts of Florida.
About a month ago I received a phone call from my sales rep at Pro Sun she was calling to let me know of a salon in the area that was for sale in case we were interested in buying it. It turns out the location of this particular salon is perfect for where we want to be over the next couple of years, only downfall is that this salon is around the same size as our first salon, rent is less expensive which is great for adding profit but the overall size will create huge waiting issues during the tanning season.
We have decided to acquire the salon I mentioned above when just the other day I received an email from my service representative at Pro Sun Tanning Industries letting me know of another local area competitor that is looking to sell. This particular competitor is one that we have been doing battle with for years, the owners have already changed hands once and the new owner looks like he has had enough as well. The previous owner tried to sell to us a couple of years ago and was asking probably twice as much as they should have been asking for it at the time. We passed on the first chance to acquire this competitor however it looks like this time if we get a more realistic price we will take over this salon as well.
