I don’t care if your one of those overnight fans or a die-hard hockey fan if you watched the Gold Medal game between Team USA vs Team Canada you couldn’t help but sit on the edge of your seat. Team USA got off to a slow start and Canada capitalized taking a 2-0 lead over Team USA early in the game, if you wanted to see the United States come out and take the lead early you were tortured until Team USA finally scored to make it 2-1.
As the final seconds ticked away in the third period and Miller was pulled from net for the extra man advantage I couldn’t help but think that I just wanted to see Team USA pull it off, with every second it seemed less likely. Every second of the final game of the Men’s Olympic Hockey Gold Medal game ticked away it hurt, then with only :24 seconds left in the third period Team USA scored to tie the game and send it in to overtime.
Mens US Hockey Team Wins Gold
At this point overtime in the Olympics is awesome, I don’t care if this is the first game you have ever seen. Every pass and every shot come with a certain level of breathlessness, from panic to excitement with every move and moment. Over five minutes of “Sudden Death” overtime (sounds so scary) passes with Canada putting pressure on the United States Men’s Hockey Team.
At this point I have to be honest, I am somewhat live blogging this post and watching the game as I write and hope for the United States hockey team to score and win the Gold Medal, especially so I don’t look more idiotic than I already do.
Game over. Canada wins the Gold Medal in Sudden Death…. damn that sucks.

The game reminds me of that one not long ago when my Vikings lost… oh well, the Saints went on to prove they were worthy.
It would have been nice it the US had taken the gold, but if not the US, I can’t think of a better team to take it. Congrat’s to our Northern friends!

You can’t ask for anymore in an Olympic game. Would have been cool for USA to win, but I’m not going to stay bitter for too long. Maybe a couple months max. Crosby has to be good at something considering how weird looking he is.

As a girl who lived in a ski/hockey town for years the perfomance of our mens hockey team (and even the alpine team) was inspiring. These guys (and girls) fought through it all and had me chewing my nails off. I can’t wait for next time!
Well, I wish the US had won the gold, but it was still a great game. Defense really ruled for most of the game.
The outcome was a shame, but still a vindication for US Hockey.

I really think that if Team USA played Canada in a best out of 7 series that they would win and IMO the series is even at 1-1. As a Detroit Redwings fan it was nice to see Mike Babcock, Steve Yzerman and Ken Holland do a great job it putting together and coaching the gold metal team. My only problem with the end of the game was the fact that Cindy Crosby scored the winning goal. Although he’s a great player i pretty much hate that little (insert choice word).
