Texting and Driving is Dumb

Buffer Pin It Texting and Driving is Dumb

It sounds so ridiculously obvious and it seems like just about every human that I have ever met will agree that texting and driving is dumb, so who are the idiots that are doing it and why? Seriously it’s all over the news and in no time there will be more deaths while driving due to idiots texting and driving than there will be deaths by drunk driving, they are both dumb!

This post is probably no different than the billions of other posts about texting and driving that are out there, but it was a post I really needed to write thanks to my growing anger towards texting drivers. Every day on the way to and from the office I travel in rush hour traffic, just like most of you that read my blog. Any of you that have ventured out on the roads during rush before know that there are more than enough “challenged” people sitting behind the wheel of an automobile at these peek travel times.

Texting and Driving Danger

So, along with the coffee drinking, sandwich eating, make-up applying, cell phone on the shoulder and brain deads that are out there doing 100 other things while they drive you can now add texting to the list. As if everyone isn’t already busy enough doing one or all of the things I mentioned above, they are now going to try to drive cluelessly while they write and exchange texts with someone else that’s probably being just as dumb as they are.

So who are these people? Is everyone doing it and just not willing to admit it? Do you text and drive? Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts on texting and driving.

That is something that really gets my goat…..

You would go crazy here in Cairo…. There are no obeyed laws… People drive through lights, speed, Drive the wrong way down the road…. Whatever they want!! Texting feels minor compared to some of their other offenses :)

I somewhat agree, but it’s hard to see what drivers are doing inside of their cars, but if someone is driving like a drunk swerving all over the place, arresting those drivers would put a stop to texting while driving. :high:

Driving takes all of your attention. In my opinion, anyone who is distracted by ANYTHING while driving is a danger to everyone.

I’m with you on this one! 9 times out of 10 when they do cause an accident, it’s them that come off with just a scratch and it’s the other drivers that end up dead! It’s a simple thing to learn not to do, haven’t these complete and utter dumb ass drivers ever heard of BlueTooth, ok mad rant over, for now

I have to say that texting and driving at the same time is really dumb.

I used to do that until I realized the problem I almost get myself into. Why not just connect a bluetooth handset and call the other person instead of texting. Although texting seems to be fun, it wasted lots of my time. I realized I could talk more in 1 minute than texting for 10 minutes. According to many studies and research texting while driving has a very high chance of getting into accident.

Hope those drivers will take care of their lives and others who are in the same car.

so many apps and software that allow for you to talk and have it get text messaged.

Where we are, its 150-500 fine for texting and speaking on the phone while driving.

I agree. There is nothing more dangerous than driving and texting. It is bad enough answering your phone while driving. But with texting your eyes and brain are not focusing on the road. Think how you would feel if you had an accident.

I was going to lunch one day with my daughter who was driving and was in shock when she was actually trying to text someone while driving. I definitely gave her a major preaching. I do not think she will doing that again. I believe it’s mostly the younger people. But I certainly believe there should be a law against texting for sure.

Hi
I agree its an accident waitting to happen, not only do they text while driving, but they hold the phone down low so the police can`t see them, this only makes matters worse, they should start sending people to jail for it,its the only way there is going to be and end to this dangerous stupidity.

in my country texting while driving are high cases of road accident until the government enforce law to all drivers who caught texting while driving. for me i silent my phone before i drive, and i set my mind not to focus on texting but focus on driving
