Before I even get going here I want to let everyone know that this is not my original blog post idea, I was flipping through my Feedly feed reader last week and came across a post titled “My Top 10 Favorite TV Shows” or something very close to that.
I could have sworn that I bookmarked the site to visit it later and include it in my article so that I could share my favorite TV shows, now I feel like an ass because I can’t give link love to the original blogger. If you recently posted an article about your Top 10 Favorite TV shows please feel free to drop a link into the comments, I always check my spam section for good quality comments and will approve the comment so you can get some link juice and link love.
My Top 10 Favorite TV Shows
10. Forensic Files
I have only recently really been hooked on this murder mystery and crime drama show, I will typically watch this show in spirts I get hooked and watch it day in and day out until something else comes along and I take a break. If your into the murder mysteries you should give Forensic Files a peek, it airs on TRU Tv.
9. Friends
No longer the big money making hysterical comedy it use to be that was shown every Thursday night year after year on NBC, if you want to see Friends along with Joey, Rachel and all of the crazy characters you will be forced to watch the reruns on one of the numerous syndicated stations it is on world wide.
This is another NBC hit comedy that can make your stomach hurt with some severe laughter, the shows popularity continues to climb and How I Met Your Mother will be moving from 8:30p to 8pm. This show reminds me a lot of friends which is probably exactly why I like it.
7. Family Guy
Ahhhh Peter, Stewie and the rest of the crazy cartoon cast that never ceases to amaze me with some of the things that they say. I love Family Guy and DVR it religously. You can catch Family Guy on Fox Sunday nights, or on one of the many syndicated stations that it is shown on.
6. Dateline
Sure it’s drama filled and the voice of the guy from “To Catch a Predator” makes me want to run my head through a wall, but regardless I like it and have been a big fan of Dateline for a long time. I prefer the nightly version that is shown on NBC in place of the MSNBC replays, all though they have some killer specials on Dateline MSNBC.
5. Southland
This is a new series on NBC that gives you an interesting look and camera view on the street life of Police in California, all though the show does not show real Police officers the stories are based on real events.
4. Big Brother
I know, I know everyone is amazed that I watch Big Brother and no one can figure out why. Like it or not Big Brother is one of my favorite shows, I can’t even say I am confident it belongs at the #4 spot on the list. I have been watching Big Brother since season one and will continue to watch the house guests try to evict each other and back stab each other, and laugh about it.
3. Entourage
If only this show were longer than the 20 minutes that it’s shown for on Sunday nights on HBO I would probably have it sitting in the number one spot, HBO has that special way of cutting a 30 minute show into something much shorter. This group of guys matched with hot cars, hot houses, a crazy life style and some very smoking chicks it the perfect cherry on a great weekend.
Yes I am a huge MMA fan, but sitting at the top of that heap is anything that the UFC does. I have been watching UFC since the very first one about 100 years ago and still never miss a UFC event, this stuff is MY Christmas. The Ultimate Fighter is the reality show that is shown on Spike TV featuring specific weight divisions and fighters looking to win a six figure contract from the UFC. There is NO reality TV like the Ultimate Fighter.

1. King of Queens
Sitting comfortably in the #1 spot and for very good reason is King of Queens with the crazy married couple Doug and Carrie Heffernan, the show is based out of Queens, New York hence the snazzy tittle. When it comes to King of Queens there is no TV show I have watched more, no cartoons as a kid and no special series as an adult has been able to rip my attention away like King of Queens did and still does. I decided to put a few fun facts about King of Queens, and my overwhelming addiction to the show which aired from 1998 – 2007 when it was canceled due to the high cost of production and salaries, yes I am still crushed.
- I have seen every King of Queens episode, at least four times.
- Leah Remini who played Carrie, Tans at Extreme Tan and Smoothies
- I came back from vacation once to find an autographed picture from Leah Remini in my mailbox, she got the address from one of my stores
- Arthur Spooner is probably my favorite character on the show
- We DVR at minimum 3 episodes of King of Queens EVERY DAY, and have done so for years
- I watch at least 2 episodes of King of Queens, EVERY DAY… it was three.
I miss the Heffernans and their crazy antics with their ridiculous cast of wild New Yorkers like Spencer and the crazy dog, and Arthur walker Holly. If you haven’t been fortunate enough to see any of the King of Queens episodes do yourself a favor and grab a box set or one of the seasons, it will give you a few solid laughs for sure.
Now let’s get down to the juice, what’s your favorite TV show? Better yet let’s see how hard it is for you to come up with 10 of your favorite TV shows, I bet it’s not as easy as you think. @Compute Live I love Prison Break, another great show all though they are reaaaaallllyyyy starting to drag it out now.
@DTRS ahhh still holding on to Friends, and for very good reason Jennifer really made that show special. As for Football, thats technically not a show or it would have been on my list too. Haha.
@Dan I see you picked “Fringe” also, I never heard of that show until this post. What is that about?
@George Night Rider, another classic.
@ShaunJudy Nice to see another mixed martial arts fan here
@JP I was speaking with a bunch of friends and they were all saying how hard the list was, my response was ,”I know right!” certainly not easy to just rattle off 10.
@Mike your choices killed me, I forgot the Sopranos and The Office and how could I forgot the First 48. I need a list of 15 now. haha
@Jacob Yap hey either way thanks for commenting and listing 5, you listed 5 excellent shows.
@Nate you have some similar ones on there, Dirty Jobs I just can’t stomach… haha get it? I liked it for a while than it just became too much, I felt like I could smell what I was seeing.

This is so weird, because these are pretty much all of my favorite TV shows (minus Family Guy — I’m more of a Simpsons guy).
I love the shows like Forensic Files (on CrimeTV). Full of suspense.
As for Dateline, one of my favorites, and yeah — Chris Hanson (the host of to Catch A Predator) never changes the tone of his voice. Speaking of that show, I hope I don’t get bashed by people for saying this, but I truely feel bad for the guys on that show. I don’t think it’s right how they expose them to the world. I was a big fan of the show (thought it was kind of funny) until I really thought about it. Their just normal guys like us.
Anyways, nice list of shows John!

Death Note is a japanese “drama” about a boy who found the death note, a book in which you can write the name of people and the way you want them to die… it comes without saying that those whose name is written in the book die… well it’s a very interesting drama if you like the genre.

You know, I’m going to save this as a topic for a blog post one of these days, and I’ll remember to give you props for the idea. After all, I just did the sci-fi movies.
Having said that, you only have two shows on your list that I’ve ever watched, if you can believe that. One is Friends, and though I wouldn’t have put it in my top 20, I did enjoy it.
The other is Family Guy, and that one would definitely be pushing top 10. Loved it from the beginning, and now it just seems like a part of life would be missing if it weren’t on. I guess it helps to have the first 5 DVD sets and the special Stewie episode.

It is just a thrill to actually know someone on there, even if it has been over 20 years since I last saw him. He is co-owner/executive chef of a restaurant in Atlanta, . Can’t wait to eat there.
