I know by know that all of you are probably awaiting my every Tweet on Twitter and your excited about my recent posts about twitter and being a tweeter yourself. I mean with Twitter growing from 6.8 million users to 9.8 million from January to February everyone has to be on twitter now. Right? Ok maybe not and with the recent rumors of Google looking to buy Twitter I will assume that Twitters growth will continue to be nothing short of mind blowing. This article about Google looking to acquire Twitter points out that Twitter grows by 6 million tweets daily, that is mind blowing.

Now with your new addiction to twitter I thought it would be important to share some of the excellent Twitter Apps for Blackberry and a few of the other pretty good Twitter Tools that are out there. You might not thank me now but you will thank me later when everyone and their mother is on Twitter and your forced into posting status updates and reading them at every red light you sit at. Welcome to Twitterville.

Here is a short list of links to the Twitter Apps and Twitter Tools that I use, maybe you will find a few of them useful.

Tweet Deck for Twitter

Tweet Deck for Twitter

Tweet Deck – This is a pretty handy tool if you follow a bunch of people but may not care for their constant status updates spamming some product. With Tweet Deck you can select which users you want to recieve status updates from which allows you to “ignore” some of the other Twitter users you might follow. Another excellent feature of Tweet Deck is the Replies, which is one of the columns that you can display on Tweet Deck it alerts you to replies made two your tweets by others you follow, I find this much easier than scrolling through 200 tweets to make sure I didn’t miss something that someone might have said to me. Tweet Deck also has a nice little Facebook addition that allows you to display status updates from your friends on Facebook in one of the columns that show in Tweet Deck, this is excellent if your like me and don’t check your Facebook all that often. Tweet Deck is available for Mac as well as PC, being a Mac user this was a big plus. One downside to Tweet Deck seems to be that with it’s growth in popularity it seems to lock up more frequently in the last couple of weeks, I can take that in trade for the excellent convenient features of Tweet Deck. I would recommend this for anyone using Twitter, period.

Get More Twitter Followers – Xavier Media came up with a pretty decent concept to get more Twitter followers. It reminds me of a pyramid concept, I figured I would give it a try and see how it goes. It seems to be working and they give you a free page like the one I have here. If you try this Twitter Follower Tool out leave some feedback and let me know what you think, it took me all of 1 minute to add my Twitter account and be done with it.

TwitterBerry – If you are a Twitter user and you have a Blackberry phone TwitterBerry is a must have for quick and easy tweeting. It still bugs me to say “tweeting” btw. You can download this handy Blackberry app right from your Blackberry phone and it installs in seconds. Sending Tweets is fast and easy and the main reason I use this Twitter app for Blackberry, it offers other features which include friend updates and a few options. Perfect for sending tweets on the go.

Split Tweet – This is perfect for any Business Owner or anyone that has multiple Twitter accounts. Split Tweet allows you to monitor and send tweets for multiple accounts in one place. Using Split Tweet saves the hassle and time of logging in and out for multiple accounts, not to mention trying to keep multiple accounts updated with fresh status updates. The one thing that I personally enjoy about Split Tweet has a built in Brand Monitor which allows you to track your business name or personal name messages that others on twitter might be saying in regards to you or your brand. Split Tweet is an excellent tool for atracting new customers who might have had a question about your brand and it also aids in tracking any issues that may be mentioned in regards to your business on twitter.

Twibes – Twibes is a site that lets you select 10 of your favorite twitter friends and will post a tweet recommending people you follow to your other twitter friends. It looks something like this:

extremejohn you should follow @section59mike, @LaceRocks, @YoungGoody, @extremetanfl and @insanelimos. 5 more picks at http://twibes.com (Edit)

This is an excellent way to spread your network out as your friends and twitter follows you recommend will recommend you through twibes to their twitter followers. If nothing more than a quick time filler it’s a great way for you to show support to your network of twitter followers.

I am hardly the Twitter junkie I could be with all of the handy twitter tools out there for making Twitter more exciting or functional. I do use the tools above with Tweet Deck being my most used Twitter tool simply based on the fact that I never have to actually go to the Twitter site to do status updates or waste time reading through Twitter messages that I could care less about. If you are a Twitter user I hope you find the information above useful, all though not a giant list of Twitter tools they each serve a pretty solid function. Follow me on Twitter

@Lace Thank you for turning me on to some of the twitter tools I mentioned in the post.

@Stan yeah Twibes is pretty cool and it’s a fun way to increase your twitter network as well. I wouldn’t mind the 6 million growth daily either.

6 million tweets a day! That is unbelievable.
I use TwitterBerry and Tweet Deck out of that list. Twibes sounds good and the name sounds cool.

It’s funny, with as much as I’m on Twitter, I still haven’t tried out TweetDeck. It looks so awesome, but I work off of three different PC’s… I can’t decide which one to add it too.

Kikolani you should give it a try for as popular as your site is and for as many twitter followers as you have it might make things a little more efficient. More importantly than k you for checking out my site and taking the time to comment I appreciate it greatly.

I have an account in twitter but I am not using it much…I get boring after a while. Do you think that using those tools make the experience more funny?

@Weeky I personally think it’s more fun if you are following more people and you have more people following you on Twitter than the experience is certainly better. You would be surprised what you can learn on Twitter from a complete stranger on any given day.

Another cool one is Tweet it In. It shrinks tweets by adding in abbreviations, contractions, replacing chars, and shortening urls. Give it a shot: http://tweetitin.com
