Before I even really get started I want to give a big shout out and special thanks to James from MMA Punk for posting UFC 103 results, with a fight card as hot as this UFC 103 fight card was I couldn’t even consider taking my eyes off the screen.
First fight up was between the always crazy haired Hermes Franka and Tyson Griffin, and holy crap this fight was sick as hell. Griffin just unloaded on Franka with crazy kicks and brutal strikes from the top ending the fight by KO. This fight turned out to be an excellent continuation of the preliminary fights that aired on Spike TV prior to UFC 103.
Next up is Frank Trigg vs Josh Koscheck, I’m curious to see how this fight turns out with Frank Trigg making his return to the UFC. Ok before you could even get into this fight it ended quickly with Josh Koscheck landing bombs on Trigg against the fenc, the fight was stopped. Koz wins.
Pretty bummed about this fight because Mike Swick was suppose to be in this fight, but ended up having to pull out of the fight due to a concussion. This fight features Martin Kampann vs Paul Daley, I wouldn’t mind seeing Kampmann hand Daley a beaten to remember. Another unreal brawl came quick during this fight, and at this point it’s more than safe to say that the Floyd Mayweather vs Juan Manuel Marquez fight couldn’t possibly be half as good as these fights. Daley wins by TKO, sick bombs in this fight.
Next up Rob Emerson vs Rafael Dos Anjos, this fight is into the second round I took quick break and the UFC decided to throw in this fight and catch me off gaurd. Dos Anjos is mauling Emerson with these inside leg kicks that are just starting to destroy Emerson. Emerson is starting to land with some solid punches and a jab that seems to be working more and more for him, Dos Anjos has also had numerous failed take down attempts.
This is the only fight to go the distance so far, as we get ready to kick off the third round the leg kicks from Dos Anjos are getting more and more brutal and connecting more and more, Emerson has buckled numerous times, but somehow continues to throw counter punches effectively. The fight is currently on the ground with Rob Emerson on the bottom and taking some heavy elbows, Emerson does attempt elbows from the bottom from time to time. Looks like Dos Anjos should walk away with this one, but wow you have to give credit to Emerson he took some monstrous inside leg kicks.
Junior Dos Santos vs Mirko Cro Cop time and holy shit does Junior look ready to kill someone, Cro Cop looks like he always does. Dos Santos is the aggressor so far to the point that Crop Cop looks a little nervous. Mirko finally got off a few times and delivered a couple of solid kicks as well as a few straight rights that really caught Dos Santos, and even at one point rocked him. Round 2 coming up. Ok update before the end of the round Mirko blasted Dos Santos in the beans pretty good, forty seconds to go.
Bottom line if Cro Cop doesn’t actually start fighting in this round this fight will be over and be one of the weirdest fights I have seen and by far the worst on the night. Cro Cop quits states that he can’t see, this comes after some brutal knees in the Muai Tai clinch. Im over Cro Cop.
I didn’t start writing anything about the Rich Franklin vs Vitor Belfort fight because nothing happend for almost the first three minutes of the fight, and when it finally did happen Vitor Belfort grazed Franklin and knocked him down, he followed it up with a few punches and the ref stopped the fight. Vitor Belfort by TKO in a pretty disappointing main event for UFC 103.
In closing I couldn’t be any happeir with my decision to get the UFC 103 event on Direct TV pay per view and pass on getting the Mayweather vs Marquez boxing match, the entire UFC 103 fight card was unreal and getting to see the prelims on Spike TV made for an even better night. Leave a comment if you watched UFC 103 or the boxing match that was on and let us know what you thought.

I’ve watched both fights and switching channels from time to time. The preliminary cards on boxing is quite good especially the Michael Katsidis vs. Vicente Escobedo, it was a street brawl from round 1 and the fight that goes to distance.
The Mayweather vs Marquez fight was a little boring as both are counter punchers.
I missed the Koscheck fight but was able to see Cro Cop vs Dos Santos and Vitor vs Franklin.
I am not sure why Franklin fell with a graze punch, maybe he slipped a little but wasn’t able to defend himself while he was down.
Anyways I think I did well with my predictions.

@ZXT, yeah we are like brothers ;)
I actually own MMA Punk and James is nice enough to operate it and keep it floating or else I would never get to it.
For me, this card delivered more than I expected. The first bout was great: I was rooting for Tyson to knock that purple-haired joker out on general principle, and I got it. Koscheck ownage was fun to watch, but Dos Santos v. Cro Cop was fight of the night for me. Sheesh. to be pummeled into temporary blindness without being knocked down… that’s a tough dude. I was about to fall asleep during the first round of Franklin v. Belfort, and then it was over. I credit Belfort for being able to capitalize on what looked like a mild slip-up by Franklin.
@Sean@Stair Lifts, the purple hair on Hermes Franca was something out of a story book, classic!
I would agree one of the better fight nights in a long time.
Oh! I forgot to do something. Congratulations, Vitor Belfort! You’re the next contestant on “Get Destroyed By Anderson Silva!” Hope you fare better than Forrest in there!
@Sean@Stair Lifts, yeah chances are Dana will hype the shit out of that fight, my guess is that he is just testing the waters now to see if anyone gives a shit about seeing that fight.
Frankly I could care less about seeing Vitor Belfort vs Anderson Silva anytime soon, let’s be realistic here. Silva has murdered EVERYONE, Belfort caught Matt Lindland and a dancing around Rich Franklin. He showed that he has speed, but can he take a shot or 100′s of them in a very short period of time fro someone like Silva and still be conscious when it’s over.
@Extreme John,
Vitor isn’t the Vitor of old anymore, he loses some of his speed and some of his bulk too. But still I will give him a chance if Silva and him fight.

@ZXT, I hope your right I wouldn;t mind seeing Anderson lose, but not feeling Vitor as the guy to do it, I would rather see Marquardt or Hendo
Were you as disappointed as me by the Cro Cop – JDS fight? I wasn’t impressed by either man, not really… Cro Cop was looking sluggish, slow and – at time – confused.. JDS was looking aggressive, yes, but still lacked the ability to decisively put him away nevertheless.. it was kinda a slow and dull fight, especially considering it was the fight I was most looking forward to

I wasn’t around to get this pay per view, but you gotta love YouTube. I got up bright and early on Sunday morning and all of the fights were on there. I hurried up and watched them before Zuffa got to work on filing copyright claims. Franklin got rocked.
