Ahhh it’s almost time for church again, time for me to sit back and watch some of the best Mixed Martial Arts fighters in the world kick the everliving shit out of each other. There’s nothing like a brutal knockout to make a Saturday the special day it should be. After the big end to the 2008 MMA Fight season with the UFC having a sick card to close out the year it’s been a few weeks since I have had myself some religion and it’s time again FINALLY! I hate this shit with a week or two off here for Holidays or whatever else… Hello people it’s FIGHTING who the hell doesn’t want to pull up a chair or 10 for a great ass kicking? Anyways it’s time for me to write some predicitions for tonights main card fights and see how it goes at the end of the night, god knows my picks for UFC 92 (ufc 92 results) or (ufc 93 results) were a nightmare to say the least. Thats what happends when I go with the heart instead of the brain, almost like thinkin with the little guy.
Before I get to the main events I will keep you hanging on the very edge of your seat for my UFC 93 Predictions and of course I will post UFC 93 Results Live on here tonight.
Marcus “The Irish Hand Grenade” Davis vs Chris “Lights out” Ltyle
Ahhh the Irish Hand Grenade, a name so rough they wouldn’t say it when they announced him at his first televised event over in the UK. That is tough stuff for sure, but when all else fails the Hand Grenade never gets off tonight and ends up a victim of the well rounded MMA Veteren Chris…. Lights Out Lytle, the lights go out tonight for Marcus Davis.
Jeremy “Gumby” Horn vs Rousimar “Toqinho” Palhares
This should be an excellent fight with Jeremy Horn who has had something like 433,000 Mixed Martial Arts fights in his career and after he gets beat down tonight by some guy I cant even say the name of he might think about pickin off some people in the crowd for revenge. Nah in all seriousness bottom line here is that Palhares is a bad ass as is Horn, Horn has had a billion fights and can beat anyone a number of ways. I just dont think he will get a chance to use any of those ways tonight against a quick Palhares. Sorry Jeremy I dont have a good feeling about this one.
Main events are on the next page.
Eric “Ravishing Red” Schafer vs Antonio “Sumuray” Mendez
Even though I think there’s only one male on the planet that should call themselves “Ravishing” and it wouldn’t be Eric Schafer, it would in fact be “Ravishing” Rick Rude. For those of you not as ancient as I am he was a wrestler for the WWF when it was the WWF and not something I still hate saying like WWE. Anyways back to the topic on hand, Im going with Schafer in this one. You should too.
Martin “The Hitman” Campman vs Alexandre Barros
Nothing huge to write about here, I think Martin Campman lives up to his name and gets into the cage and does his thing, knocking out Alexandre Barros in the first round. Yeah I said it first round.
Mark the Hammer Coleman vs Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
Here we go!! If you know me and have ever talked MMA with me than you know I am all about the hopeless comeback of a great MMA Legend. Holds true for Ken Shamrock, Dan Savrin, and Mark “The Hammer Coleman”, you can throw “Iron Mike” Tyson in the batch of guys I would like to see pull off that one last big win too. Tonight I will be screaming and gripping at my seat with every punch and every kick, as I wait and prey for Mark Coleman to beat the everliving shit out of “Shogun” Rua. Sad reality is Mark Coleman will probably be another victim on another highlight reel, regardless Im excited for his comeback and I will stick with my heart and pick the old man Mark “The Hammer” Coleman. Good luck Mark, you will need every ounce of it to pull this off.
Rich “Ace” Franklin vs Dan “Hendo” Henderson
Now on to one of the most confusing fights in the world for me, kinda. I mean I know Dan hasn’t had any great outings lately and he needs a solid fight tonight but in all reality, does Rich Franklin really deserve to stand in the cage against Dan Henderson tonight? Let’s not froget the facts here people, Rich Franklin had his face destroyed by Anderson Silva…. Twice. He would have it destroyed another 10x if he jumped in the ring with Anderson again too. Dan Henderson on the other hand won the first round against Anderson Silva in their fight, sure he went on to make some mistakes and ended up gettin beat down by Anderson Silva as well. Now with that said, fact remains in 2 fights with Anderson Silva, Rich Franklin couldn’t win a minute, nevermind a round. Dan Henderson won 50% of his fight with Anderson Silva, he will win 100% of his fight tonight against Rich “Ace” Franklin. I think Henderson out works and out mind controls Franklin.
With that said folks I wish you luck in your ventures tonight, know that I will be watching each fight with Lappie in hand and ready to update. Also keep in mind that if I start to enjoy the fights too much I probably won’t update the site. Just being honest here. The countdown to UFC 93 gets shorter and I can’t wait.
