Unfinished Business

It’s Friday again and this Friday seems to have sneaked right up out of no where. That said, another Friday means that it’s time for another Friday Free For All. The “Friday Free-for-All” #FridayFreeforAll series of posts is a way for all small business owners and entrepreneurs who read my blog to come together and share their ideas and experiences that pertain to a featured question or topic of the week. This week’s topic is unfinished business.

What Unfinished Business Did You Have This Week?

Running a business means having to be able to multitask, but try as I might this week I just had too many tasks on my plate and here I am on Friday afternoon trying to cram it all in before the weekend. Of course we all know that the weekend doesn’t bring too much rest for the wicked small business owner, but this week I am sure that one or two things are simply going to be left undone. One of the funny things about being a small business owner is that some weeks you have to learn to let go of some of those things that were left undone, push them to the following week and just let it be. If I worried about every little task that I left undone I’m fairly certain I’d have given myself a heart attack by now.

Parting Shots

Part of being a successful business owner is learning when to “hold ‘em” and when to “fold ‘em,” in other words, know when efforts to cram in that extra unfinished business is going to give productive results and when it is not. Some weeks it’s better to put it all off until you have the adequate time to dedicate to the task at hand.

Your Turn

Were you left with some unfinished business this week? Are you able to let go of it or do you try to cram it all in before another week begins? Leave a comment below and share your opinion.

I have a few articles to write, but other than that, I’m right on track where I expected to be at the end of this week. :)

EOM is always a good time and certainly a busy time of the month for me here, happy you’re going to be lounging around ;) Hopefully I will be as well this weekend before the fights start tomorrow.

I am way behind… but no worries I can handle it and actually like the pressure. Moving next weekend back to the beach, starting new sites, rebuilding old ones, trying to write a little, working on a clients email marketing, etc….

Never a dull moment! Holla at me on skype later and let me know how we stand on our previous convo…

It seems I’ve always got some unfinished business hanging around. Whether it’s financials, client projects, etc…there’s always something to tie up.

Something I’ve become a little better with lately, is deciding on what’s important and what isn’t. When I iron everything out – and get my priorities straight, then I can easily tell what needs working and what can be left alone.

If I don’t – I drown.

If one task is left undone in a week. In coming week a good business man will do brainstorming to stop it and his struggles will be too managed to done each work in time.I think this is way to get natural potential.

My filing pile looks similar to the pic here and my returns and defective product pile is overwhelming also. Wish me luck as I try to tackle the two of them by Saturday.

Its nice to hear others are finishing the week with a little un finished business. I think there is always gonna be a little unfinished business, that for me is what it means to be a business owner. I work weekends, weekdays, sometimes I will blow off a whole week. Gotta love it! Thanks for the post, I like your style and look forward to more!

Hey!!! this week I am on the track, I have no unfinished business. I always try to finish it every week so that I can enjoy the weekend freely. But sometimes it doesn’t happen.

That’s understandable Jeff, having the weekends off is a great thing. As for not always getting it done, it happens.

I also had a lot of articles to write and time was chasing me. But that doesn’t bother me. In fact, I love the thrill. I maybe just that I got used to living within pressures.. :)

I’m totally not a good crammer. But I’m neither an obsessive-compulsive person. I just want to get things done ahead of deadlines so unfinished business at the end of the week sometimes make me feel frustrated.

I’m kind of over compulsive myself.
