Video from Our Small Business Town Hall Breakfast

Extreme Tan and Smoothies

As I rip through another mayhem filled day here at the Extreme Tan and Smoothies home office I came across this video from our second Town Hall, some of you old schoolers are thinkin, “Town Hall? WTF is that?”. Basically it’s the new “in” way to say “meeting” without actually saying the word meeting, you had to figure meeting would die after “mandatory” died a few years back. Thank you HR!

Anyway, this video is from our second Extreme Tan and Smoothies Town Hall. Instead of following the typical “meeting format” a bunch of associates voluntarily  showed up to sit down and discuss issues within our small business tanning salon business, since I typically listen during these things I decided it would be fun to cook breakfast for everyone. It kept me focused :)

Looks like you had fun there. I like the way you take care of your business and employees. You should be a role model for many CEOs out there.

@Marko, I really wouldn’t say all that, but thank you. Haha I do think it’s fun to change it up every once in a while, and I think our associates enjoy it too.

I think I’m going to write one post about Extreme Limos just to flex and test my skills :) If I was District manager I would of had the food ready when you got there BOSS :)
See you are able to tolerate and deal with things way better then me it’s hard enough to deal with all the DUMB things people do but If I was PAYING someone and I asked them to be somewhere and I’m waiting ?
Well that’s me and no offense to the tardy
Let’s RECAP
1 Your employer cares about what you think ?
2 Your willing to take time to make your people happy
3 Your on time and giving it a level of importance people will respect and appreciate
4 What happen at the meeting
5 I may be wrong and she comes in @ 8 but I would of been there @ 7 cooking it UP :)

@John Sullivan, haha I probably would have been there at 7 cooking it for my boss as well, everyone is different and everything takes learning. Not to mention she really had no idea I intended to cook breakfast, I never told her :)

Treating employees right and respecting them is A MUST. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I feel good when my employees feel good. It’s a win win for everyone.

P.S. I changed my name to bounce house rental for now. I want to see the effect your site has on that keyword for me :)

That’s great John. Now you’ve gotta start giving away turkey’s from the back of a truck on Christmas and Thanksgiving =). I like the new advertisement you popped up at the office too. It’s appealing ;)

@Extreme John,

I’m always late with you, damn. Surprised, missed my f***in period again LOL. Did you stash loot underneath the dog house already too!? j/k =). All jokes aside, wish I could do those things. I envy that Mister Sir.

It is critical for bosses to be involved in these types of meetings. I work in risk management, as you know, and I can assure people of one thing – if there’s an open door policy, staff meetings, town hall meetings and if employees feel they can speak up, many of the normal day-today business problems go away.

I loved the video, dude. Felt bad that you forgot the keys though. LOL.
