Where Does All the Time Go? Damned If I Know!

Buffer Pin It Guest Post

This is a guest post by Karen, the real blogger behind Blazing Minds.

I love blogging, it’s a passion that I been growing with over the last few years, but time seems to fly by so fast and I am so busy I miss out on some tasty guest blogging!

So I thought I would come out of the Blazing Minds encampment and bring a bit of blogging over here, with just a little post, that may develop bigger as I go on, you just never know, about how time seems to vanish these days and what we all seem to be doing with it.

Speaking from experience I couldn’t believe it when I logged in that my last post here was way back in January, good God what the heck have I been doing with my time…

For me I’ve been working hard on my blog and commenting on other like minded and interesting blogs as well as continuing with my music career with a new album been produced, not only that I have to keep a job down to pay the bills. So you can see why it’s been so long since my last Guest Post.

The other thing I have always noticed about time is it’s damn quick when your doing something like working on a blog post, but it’s as slow as hell if you’re not doing anything, all psychological, I know, but it’s just one of those those things I think about when I’m not doing anything. Technically I am doing something, I’m thinking, Oh and breathing and …… Ok I’ never actually doing nothing, saying that, is there actually anything such thing as nothing! … Oh dear! I’ve gone cross eyed

Anyhoo fellow bloggers, have you found that your time is flying by and you’re not too sure where it’s gone to or are you one of the lucky ones that seems to have that magic 26 hours in a day?

Hmmm… Discussion starts … NOW!  ;) – Leave a comment

Time always seems to move fast. The kids grow up to fast. There’s never enough time in the day. And then, my workday disappears because I spend too much time reading and commenting and voting for blog posts. If only I took as much time to write them… LOL

@David Leonhardt @ happiness blog, I feel the same sometimes, with all the time reading blogs, writing them gets harder every day.

Nothing seems to make your time disappear as fast as the Internet… I will click from one link to another because I want to learn more and end up going through 20 sites and it taking 5 hours! There is so much to learn. I do agree, when you are “doing” time flies and when you are “waiting” time stagnates.

@Eve@Electrical Contractors, It’s like dominoes, you hit one and they all start tumbling, one to another to another and so on ;)

What really drives me up the wall is this -

I go to school 6 hours a day. By the time I get back, I have about 3 hours of quite working time. In that time, however, I find a way to get distracted (while having programs like email and twitter up, mind you) and get no work done.

Come night time, however, I am completely blank and waste even more time thinking. It really comes down to time management. And sleep does help, too. :D

Great post, Karen.

Now who is here raving about time goes by to fast?
Oh you hit the right tooth with me …
My son turned 21 a few weeks ago. now where the heck is that time gone? I almost can smell his dirty diapers still!
Last weekend we finally managed it to go fishing…for the first time of this year! Now where are the first 6 months of 2010 gone?

And why is it that when I’m here at the office, time never seems to pass but once I’m at home and we are working on our online business the clock jumps to midnight or even later in the blink of an eye?

My Conclusion: If time keeps passing by so fast, then the only good thing will be, me to get my first retirement check before too long and we won’t have too many times fish on the table.
Cheers

They do say that time flies when you’re having fun, so all I can say is, if life is going by too fast, then it must be fun, fun, FUN

What I don’t understand is how people get bored! I never think, wow, there is nothing to do, there is nothing that i want to learn. I feel like even when I am doing “nothing” it is actually meditation and a quieting of the mind that is necessary… I am never just bored. I do wish the Internet didn’t take me down so many rabbit trails though, that is definitely not the productive action I want to do with my time.

I suppose you could say that there is no such thing as nothing, as we are always doing something, even breathing is something ;) You’re right about the internet though, it’s like a modern day Alice in Wonderland and you’re following the white rabbit wherever it goes

I know what Eve is saying but its amazing how easy it can be to get bored too! I think its all about a persons mindset and how they naturally look for things to do. I think some people enjoy being bored and look for opportunities to be in that state!

I hate been bored, it maybe that I’m just one of those people who always has to be doing something and usually it’s something constructive in one way or another

:) I do know what being bored is. It is definitely not in me to let myself be bored when I am in control of my time! It does happen when I am stuck doing something that I don’t want to do… like being in a meeting ;) … then I’m really bored.
